Who is the course for?
The classroom basic training course is aimed at all those who wish to pursue a specialized career in the aeronautical sector as maintenance technicians and mechanics for Category B1.1 (turbine engine airplanes), although they have not developed any type of experience in this field.
The contents and levels of knowledge of the course in the classroom comply with the provisions of Annex III (Part 66) of Regulation (EU) 1321/2014.
Our basic training course provides for the theoretical training of the modules and practical training aimed at issuing the “Certificate of Recognition” which attests the participation with a positive outcome to the course, in order to get the Aircraft Maintenance License.
Theoretical Program
The Base B1.1 course includes the 13 theoretical modules required under EASA Part-66 regulations, providing students with the essential technical knowledge and skills needed to begin their training towards obtaining an Aircraft Maintenance Licence (AML).
The lessons are organised progressively by individual module and are delivered in Italian and English. At the end of each subject, students attend a revision seminar followed by the relevant examination.
A minimum attendance of 90% of the lessons is required to be eligible to sit the examination for each module.
The theoretical examinations are conducted in English and consist of multiple-choice questions, with three possible answers for each question. Module M7 also includes two open-ended questions.
A minimum score of 75% is required to pass each module examination.

Practical Program
The practical training gives students the opportunity to work directly on aircraft and aeronautical components, following the official procedures and instructions contained in the relevant maintenance manuals.
The programme includes approximately 1,225 hours of practical training. Around 70% of the practical activities are carried out in our workshops, while the remaining 30% takes place at partner Approved Maintenance Organisations (AMOs).
Under European EASA regulations, completing the Base B1.1 course allows students to reduce the practical experience required to obtain the Aircraft Maintenance Licence from 5 years to 2 years.
The required 2 years of practical experience must be completed after the course at organisations approved under Part-145 or Part-M, Subpart F, and recognised by EASA Member States.
Certificate of Recognition
Upon completion of the theoretical examinations and the required practical training, students are required to take a final assessment. Upon successful completion, a Certificate of Recognition is issued.
The Certificate of Recognition must then be submitted to the Competent Authority, together with documentation proving the practical experience gained, in order to apply for the issue of the Aircraft Maintenance Licence.
In Italy, the licence is issued by ENAC (Italian Civil Aviation Authority) and is recognised and valid throughout all EASA Member States.

Entry requirements:
Currently, there are no entrance tests to attend the course.
A basic knowledge of English (Level A2/B1) and a secondary school diploma (equivalent or higher educational qualification) are required. A strong aptitude for manual work is recommended.
