The courses for aircraft maintenance (both the basic training course and the online courses for aircraft maintenance) are open to all those interested in undertaking a career in the aeronautical maintenance sector.<\/p>\n

A basic knowledge of English is required (Level A2 \/ B1) and a secondary school diploma, equivalent or higher as an educational qualification. A strong aptitude for manual work is recommended.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>

How can I register for courses?<\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

The registration\u00a0 for our courses is provided in two ways.<\/p>

For our Basic Training Course you must contact the secretary\u2019s office of the Academy and request the appropriate registration form which must be completed and returned by email to segreteria@training-aea.it<\/a> along with a copy of an identity document and a copy of the Tax Code.<\/p>

For On-line Courses: it is possible to fill in the registration form by requesting it from the e-mail address segreteria@training-aea.it<\/a>. Once all the data has been entered, the form must be returned via email together with a copy of an identity document, a copy of the Tax Code and a copy of the transfer certifying the payment.<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>

Once all the theoretical modules of the course for cat. B1.1, B1.2 or B2 have been completed, within what period is it necessary to acquire the minimum practical experience required by law for the issue of the license?<\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

The practical experience must be acquired within 10 years starting from the issuing of the first Certificate of Recognition following the passing of the first examination taken for the theoretical modules.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>

The EU Regulation no. 1321\/2014 Annex III (Part-66) states that the applicant must have gained practical experience in the field of aircraft maintenance, as a necessary condition for obtaining the aircraft maintenance license (Ref. 66.A.30). In particular:<\/p>\n

CAT.B1.2<\/p>\n

    \n
  • three years of practical experience in the maintenance of operational aircraft, in the event that the applicant has not received any relevant technical training; or<\/li>\n
  • two years of practical experience in the maintenance of operational aircraft and completion of a training course, deemed appropriate by the Competent Authority, as a skilled worker in a technical activity; or<\/li>\n
  • one year of practical experience in operating aircraft maintenance and completion of a basic training course approved in accordance with Part 147.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    CAT.B1.1 and B2<\/p>\n

      \n
    • five years of practical experience in maintenance on operational aircraft, in the event that the applicant has not received any relevant technical training; or<\/li>\n
    • three years of practical experience in the maintenance of operational aircraft and completion of a training course, deemed appropriate by the Competent Authority, as a skilled worker in a technical activity; or<\/li>\n
    • two years of practical experience in the maintenance of operational aircraft and completion of an approved basic training course, in accordance with Part 147.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>

      Where is the practical activity established for the basic training course carried out?<\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

      Practical experience must include a representative series of maintenance operations relevant to the category for which the License is to be achieved. Practical activities are carried out at our workshop<\/u> located near our headquarters. The law also states that 30% of practical experience must take place within Maintenance Companies approved as Part-145.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>

      Once I have passed the exams of the modules and acquired the minimum practical experience required by the legislation, to whom should I contact to obtain the release of the Aircraft Maintenance License?<\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t
      \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

      The application for the release must be submitted to the Competent Authority (in Italy ENAC), using the appropriate EASA Form 19 form.<\/p>\n

      The following documentation must be attached to the application<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

        \n
      • certified copy of the qualification or self-certification according to the law;<\/li>\n
      • certified copy of the “Certificates of Recognition” or other certificates relating to the courses passed;<\/li>\n
      • evidence of maintenance experience;<\/li>\n
      • copy of any Technical Suitability Certificates previously held;<\/li>\n
      • any documentation certifying the right to credit recognition;<\/li>\n
      • copy of the certificate of payment of the rights.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        The maintenance experience must be adequately documented; for this purpose the ENAC makes available on its website a specific form called MERL (“Maintenance Experience Record Log”), which can be used to certify the fulfilment of the minimum aeronautical maintenance experience requirement (ENAC NAV-60A Circular).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>

        How long is an Aircraft Maintenance License valid?<\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t
        \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

        The Aircraft Maintenance License is valid for 5 years from the date of issue, except in cases where the Competent Authority has deemed it appropriate to revoke, suspend or limit the License.<\/p>\n

        At the end of the 5 years, the holder submits the renewal request to the Competent Authority, which, having verified the correspondence between the contents of the License and the data in its possession and the absence of any revocation, suspension or limitation action, proceeds to renewal for a further 5 years (Ref. 66.A.40 EU Reg. No. 1321\/2014 – Annex III_Part 66).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>

        In which cases does the Competent Authority revoke, suspend or limit the Aircraft Maintenance License?<\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t
        \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

        The competent authority may suspend, limit or revoke the Aeronautical Maintenance License if there is a safety hazard, or if there is clear evidence that the owner has carried out or has been involved in one of the following activities:<\/p>\n

          \n
        1. achievement of the Maintenance License and \/ or certification privileges by falsifying the documentation delivered;<\/li>\n
        2. failure to carry out the required maintenance and omission of the relative report to the company or to the person who requested the maintenance;<\/li>\n
        3. failure to perform the necessary maintenance following an inspection carried out personally and failure to report it to the company or to the subject on whose behalf maintenance should have been performed;<\/li>\n
        4. negligent maintenance;<\/li>\n
        5. falsification of maintenance reports;<\/li>\n
        6. issuing of a certificate of readmission into service with the awareness of failure to carry out the maintenance specified on the in-service release certificate or without having verified that such maintenance has actually been performed;<\/li>\n
        7. performance of maintenance or release of readmission certificates in service under the influence of alcohol or drugs.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

          Is the issue of the License by the Competent Authority of an EASA Member State recognized at European level?<\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

          The Aircraft Maintenance License is recognized by all EASA Member States<\/strong>. Therefore, once the release by the National Competent Authority is obtained (in Italy it is ENAC – National Agency for Civil Aviation), the owner has the possibility to work also in one of the member states of the EASA.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>
